KDD

Kokusai Denshin Denwa Co. (KDD, literally “International Telegram and Telephone Company”) was the former name of Japan’s leading international telecommunications company, which had a monopoly on telegraph and telephone connections with foreign countries.
KDD was founded in 1953 and merged with other companies in 2000 to form KDDI Corporation.

The images on the back and joker cards show text in Japanese, English, Chinese and Korean promoting the use of the international prefix “001” to call home.
